Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 head green cabbage
  • 1 lb ground meat (beef, turkey, or plant-based)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • Optional: ketchup for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Remove the outer leaves from the cabbage and blanch about 8-10 large leaves in boiling water for 2 minutes. Transfer to ice water to cool.
  3. In a bowl, mix ground meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, and paprika until well combined.
  4. Spoon the mixture onto each cabbage leaf, folding the sides and rolling them up tightly. Place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cabbage is tender and slightly crispy at the edges. Drizzle with ketchup halfway through if desired.
