Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 lb ground lamb or beef
  • 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup beef stock

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion until translucent. Add ground lamb or beef, cooking until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg, then stir in beef stock and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  3. Roll out half the puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut circles for pie bases and place them in greased muffin tins.
  4. Fill each pastry base generously with the meat mixture.
  5. Roll out the remaining pastry to cover each pie, sealing edges with a fork and making small slits on top for steam release.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
