  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition; then mix in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually blend dry ingredients into the wet mixture alternating with milk until just combined.
  6. Pour batter evenly into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool cakes in pans for about 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
