  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans or almonds)

  1. Prepare your baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat, combine butter, sugar, and corn syrup. Stir constantly until boiling.
  3. Continue stirring while monitoring the temperature until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
  4. Quickly pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly before it cools.
  5. After about 5 minutes, sprinkle dark chocolate chips on top and let sit for 3 minutes to melt before spreading evenly.
  6. Add chopped nuts on top while the chocolate is still warm and gently press them down.
  7. Allow to cool completely before cutting into pieces for serving.
