  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 cup full-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 medium cucumber, grated and drained
  • ½ cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add chicken breasts; coat well. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  2. In another bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber (drained), feta cheese, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to use.
  3. Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove chicken from marinade and cook for about 6-8 minutes per side until internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Let rest before slicing.
  4. Heat pita on the grill or in a dry skillet for about a minute on each side until slightly charred but soft.
  5. Slice chicken into strips and place on warm pita bread. Top generously with creamy feta tzatziki.
