  • For Salted Caramel Sauce: 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream unsalted butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Gradually mix in all-purpose flour, baking powder, and sea salt until just combined.
  4. In a separate pan, melt brown sugar with heavy cream over medium heat until smooth; fold into the batter gently.
  5. Pour equal portions into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. For the salted caramel sauce, melt granulated sugar over medium heat until golden brown. Carefully stir in heavy cream and add flaky sea salt.
