  • 1 French bread loaf (12 inches)
  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 28 oz canned whole peeled tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the French bread lengthwise and hollow out each half.
  2. Mix melted butter with minced garlic and olive oil; spread inside and outside of bread.
  3. Toast bread halves on a baking sheet for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions; drain when al dente.
  5. Simmer canned tomatoes and Italian seasoning in a saucepan for 15 minutes until thickened.
  6. Toss spaghetti with the sauce, fill each toasted bread bowl, and return to the oven for another 5-7 minutes.
  7. Serve warm, garnished with cheese or herbs if desired.
